Beautifully Flawed

We live in a world driven by technology. Everyone uses technology, from children and teenagers to adults and elders. Technology is vital in today’s world and indeed, makes everything easier, but it can cause laziness and it was abused by others.

In today's technology, communication is one of the most affected in our daily lives. It’s no surprise that the widespread use of social media for communicating ideas has a profound effect on the overall way people communicate today. Social media reduced the barriers in communication, making it easier for everyone to express their thoughts to the world. It has also made it easier to connect to friends and families more than ever. Where you are allowed to see the face of the person you are talking to and with just one dial, you can talk to someone that easily. But everything that is beautiful has also its downside, social media is a public platform, anyone — including news outlets — can post anything without being accountable for fact-checking. Spreading fake news nowadays is very common which is not very pleasing. Which affect our own beliefs and perspective.

Today, everything we use in our daily life is a gift of technology. We can enjoy and use it our advantage but everyone should be mindful and responsible in using it in a good way that cannot be harmful to anyone.

An open letter for the President

                                                                                                                                    July 1,2018 Dear Mr. President, Greetings of peace and joy! I am Shania Gasmen, a Grade 10 student of Ilocos Sur National High School. I want you to know that I really admire your political will to change our country's problem for the better. You are doing the best that you can to find ways and means. You have a good heart with an arm fist. Just be tactful with your words especially on televised speeches because many young generation are watching and listening. May I request that you allot more funds to the Department of Education to supplement the needs of children, classroom building, increase the salaries of the teachers and for free college education. I am hoping that you may find time to read my simple message to you Mr. President. May the Lord give you good health and guidance to continue good purposes.
